At Geo Concrete Products, we recognise our responsibility as a manufacturer of dense and medium dense concrete blocks to operate efficiently and with environmental awareness. While concrete production is energy-intensive, we focus on responsible resource management, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement to reduce environmental impact where practicable.
A key strength of our operation is our integration with our sister company, Geo Aggregates, which operates from the same site. By sourcing aggregates directly on-site, we significantly reduce the transportation of raw materials prior to manufacture, lowering vehicle movements and associated supply chain emissions. This integrated model also supports greater operational control, allowing us to monitor fuel and energy consumption across production and maintain plant and equipment to ensure efficient performance and reduced unnecessary usage.
Our approach to environmental management extends across materials, water, waste, and site stewardship. We operate a rainwater harvesting system, collecting water from the roof structure above our production area and reusing it within the block manufacturing process, reducing reliance on mains water supply. Raw materials are carefully controlled through efficient batching systems to minimise waste, with suitable materials reintroduced into production where appropriate. Waste generated on-site is segregated to support recycling and responsible disposal, helping to limit landfill. In addition, planting and seeding have been introduced along site boundaries and across appropriate areas of the facility to enhance biodiversity and improve the surrounding environment.
The durability, compressive strength, and long service life of our dense and medium dense blocks contribute to reduced maintenance requirements and extended building lifespan. By supporting long-term structural performance, our products help lower whole-life environmental impact within the built environment.
